This is just a friendly reminder that your third-quarter taxes are coming due. If you’re a contractor, or self-employed, you know the importance of quarterly taxes. We want to remind you that taxes are coming due on September 15th.
When Are Quarterly Estimated Taxes Due Every Year?
There are four dates you need to be concerned with if you pay quarterly estimates:
-
January 15th
-
April 15th
-
June 15th
-
September 15th
Keep these dates in mind every year, and make sure you’re ready when they come around!
What Happens If I Don’t Pay My Quarterly Estimated Taxes?
If you don’t pay enough tax by the due date of each payment period, you may be charged a penalty even if you’re due a refund when you file your income tax return at the end of the year.
If you mail your estimated tax payment and the date of the U.S. postmark is on or before the due date, the IRS will generally consider the payment to be on time.
